The Imperial Masks
In Japan, the culture of wearing masks has a long history, even before the Pandemic era. This is a quandary for foreigners who visit Japan. Masks are basic etiquette items used to prevent the spread of sickness and disease, fashion, identity concealment, and bad hygiene days. There is no right or wrong when wearing masks in Japan. (You are only judged if you don’t wear a mask, and should because of apparent illness.) You be the judge after viewing the photos in this book. Do you ‘mask’ up?
